I just got home from picking up Dad at LifeCare. There was a client there today who displayed some hostile behaviors toward a worker. It made me realize how blessed I am that Dad has such a pleasant disposition. On the way home, Dad said, "Where are we going?" I said, "home - Hudlow Road". He waited about 10 seconds and then said, "home, home, Hudlow Road". Then he looked over at me and said, "Where are we going?". He also read signs today. When he first moved in with us, he read every sign we passed by. He would read road signs, store signs, speed limit signs and advertisements. It was so funny that when he read the Denny's sign that only said "Denny's" he would add, "Grand Slam". Over the months, Dad has read the signs less and less and sometimes not at all. But today, he read almost every sign we came by until we got to highway 64. He is now sitting at the bar, looking at his books and cards. I'll be fixing his dinner, then Van and Simon are going to stay with him while I go to a baby shower. I'll be home in time to get him in bed. Hopefully we can all sleep in tomorrow morning! Susie
